Research interests:

  • Deep-water sedimentary processes and deposits. Flow processes and deposit architecture of gravity flows, e.g., turbidity currents and debris flows. Timing, trigger mechanisms and character of volcanic island landslides. Genesis and structure of deep-water bedforms, e.g., sediment waves. Bottom current systems, processes and products. Hydrocarbon E&P analogue and geohazard studies.
  • Seabird and cetacean distribution and ecology. Influence of climate change on seabirds and other marine fauna in UK waters. Conservation of the critically endangered Balearic Shearwater. Study of migratory seabirds in the east Atlantic flyway. Understanding linkages between seabirds and prey in upwelling systems.
